Brown cloth boards with minor edgewear and scuffing. Two front corners and head/heel of spine are bumped and worn. First blank recto page, "With the kind regards of the Author" but not signed. With owner's name and date (March 29th , 1873) just below. Water stain on both endpapers and small stain along top edge of many inside pages. Otherwise a very clean and tight copy of this rare volume that includes 19 papers most of which were delivered before the medical graduates of the Univ. of Pennsylvania from the spring of 1836 to 1860.
