Illustrated green cloth boards with gild lettering. Head/heel of spine and corners bumped and lightly worn. Spine slightly faded. A few pages have minor spotting and smudges. Front inside hinge started. 442 pages and 10 pages of book ad s. Otherwise a very nice edition of a story that takes young readers "to one of our noblest rivers and make[s] them share in the stirring experiences which are to be had on its waters, and at the same time feel something of the romance and charm tha t belong to its historic setting."
